About Us
Austin Control provides system design and Crestron programming to clients
worldwide.
Sheila Austin, President of Austin Control LLC, received a BS in Acoustical
Engineering from the University of Hartford in 1996. After taking a position
as a junior acoustical engineer in NYC, she left to work with one of the
leading Crestron programmers in the country in order to explore her growing
interest in Audio/Visual programming and design. After several years of
training and fieldwork in both the commercial and residential areas of
the A/V industry, working with many of the top A/V companies in the
Northeast, Sheila decided to increase her focus on the design aspects of
A/V and achieved her CTS-D certification from the International
Communications Industries Association, becoming only the second female to
achieve this designation. Drawing on her interest in working independently,
Sheila pursued certification as an independent Crestron programmer, and
formed her own company, Austin Control LLC in CT in 2002. She worked with
residential and commercial dealers in CT, MA, and CA until 2005. Finding
her sea legs, Sheila began providing programming and design for Crestron
systems in yachts by accepting a permanent position with Intelect Integrated
Electronics, a Crestron dealer. In 2007, Sheila achieved Silver Certified
Crestron Master Programmer status, becoming the first female that
was Silver Certified.
In the beginning of 2010 Sheila then achieved Gold Certified
Crestron Master Programmer status, becoming the first and only female
that is Gold Certified. Also in 2010, Sheila became DMC-E certified.
She still maintains her CTS-D status from ICIA.
Austin Control has programmed many systems for residential, commercial, and marine customers worldwide.
Sheila is determined to expand her expertise of programming and design, and offer
her services to multiple customers in diverse geographic regions.
Austin Control LLC, a Florida Limited Liability Company, was created for
this pursuit.
